I've been advised by several people that they've received a warning like the above graphic when attempting to access this blog. For information purposes, I'm on a Macintosh, which is not vulnerable to the myriad of virii, Trojan horses, and assorted annoyances that afflict the PC world. I'm running the latest anti-virus protection, with updated definitions, as a precaution anyway. I also remove daily any Flash SOL super cookies that may find their way onto the hard drive. In short, there is NO threat here to your computer. What's apparently happening is that something posted here irritated certain powers-that-be enough for them to play this silliness. Michael Rivero said, "Truth is only 'hate speak' to those with something to hide." I can't stop them from doing this, it's originating out on the internet somewhere. But in an odd way, it's a compliment, something here must have really struck a nerve... Good. They might as well get used to it, too. - CoyotePrimeSunday, September 19, 2010
Phony "MALWARE" Warnings

I have recieved this message several times now. How is one to tell if the warning is genuine or not?
ReplyDeleteI'm not really sure, Le Loup, since I have no idea where this message is coming from. Google? Google owns Blogger, they know exactly what's on every blog, and if the warnings from them why haven't I been contacted about "dangerous" content? I simply don't know. Doing something like this maliciously is not that hard a technical challenge. But there are no ads, banners, popups or other 3rd party implants on this blog, all of which are capable of tracking you or collecting data. If you feel this, or other sites displaying this kind of warning, are safe then click through to the site. Trust your own instincts and judgement about this.
ReplyDeleteAnd thanks for stopping by and commenting.
