"U. Michigan Law School Scrubs Post-Election Play-Doh Event From Website"
"You read the headline right. The University of Michigan Law School offered a post-election event for traumatized students which included having fun with Play-Doh. The Daily Caller reported: "Univ. Of Michigan Law School Tries- And Fails- To Scrub Trump Trauma Play-Doh Event From Website."
"Staffers at the University of Michigan Law School scheduled a post-presidential election event entitled “Post-election Self-care with Food and Play.” The event, featuring Play-Doh, bubbles and Legos, has now apparently been canceled- possibly in response to heaps of ridicule. The “Post-election Self-care with Food and Play” event was scheduled to take place in Room 138 of Hutchins Hall on Michigan’s stunningly beautiful Law Quadrangle. “Join us for delicious and comforting food with opportunity to experience some stress-busting, self-care activities such as coloring sheets, play dough [sic], positive card-making, Legos, and bubbles with your fellow law students,” the description of the event announces." "Barnard Students Console Themselves Over Election With Coloring Books"
"The coloring books were apparently “feminist” coloring books but at this point, what difference does it make? Campus Reform reports: "Barnard students mourn Hillary loss with ‘feminist coloring pages’ Barnard College students shaken over the loss of Hillary Clinton will be treated to a “space to destress in light of the tumultuous election season” Wednesday.
The event, titled “Cocoa + Coloring with RBG,” will be sponsored by the Barnard student government in conjunction with the American Association of University Women, and will feature hot chocolate, snacks, and “feminist coloring pages” for students to unwind with, according to the Facebook event page. The feminist coloring pages will include feminist icons including Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Rosie the Riveter, and Hillary Clinton. Coloring books are not new to Barnard College; the room that the event will be held in, the “Social Justice Lounge” is advertised to students as a place chock full with them.
Last week, right after the election of Donald Trump, Barnard’s Student Life department released a guided video tour of the Social Justice Lounge encouraging students to visit during its normal hours of operation, Monday through Friday between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.”
"U. Miami Students Get Milk And Cookies to Help Deal With Trump Victory"
"It’s amazing how higher education turned into kindergarten following the election. It’s so embarrassing to see this happening in so many places. The Miami Hurricane reports: "Students ask themselves ‘what now?’ after Election 2016 Students, faculty, religious leaders and organizers of Get Out The Vote (GOTV) gathered two nights after the shocking presidential election to ask “what now?” Attendees sat in silence drinking milk and eating cookies awaiting what moderator Ralph Paz, secretary of GOTV, had to say. Those in attendance appeared to be primarily Hillary Clinton supporters seeking solace in each other’s experiences and emotions.
“This event is not about who you voted for and why. This is to come together and discuss our diverse experiences of the 2016 election,” Paz explained. Students were reluctant to speak out at first, but as the event went on, more and more attendees raised their hands. Students snapped, clapped and sighed in agreement as they heard from others who shared their concerns.
Of the 50 people in the room, almost all of the students raised their hands to say they were first-time voters. A student wearing a shirt that said, “A woman’s place is in the House and the Senate,” said he felt empowered after voting for the first time. He felt that his voice was being heard. However, he felt uneducated to an extent because he did not know every item on the ballot like local races.”
