"The Third World..."

"There's only one Earth, and it's tiny, but evil human leaders avoid problems they don't want to resolve by giving them names which make the problems sound like they're taking place in a different world: they make people not care about other people dying of starvation by calling the place the dying live ‘the third world.’"
- Craig Stone

  1. Unfortunately, these people are pawns in the corruption game. Whether the local war lord, or the NGO pitching for donations which never reach the intended victims, these problems are "created" by those who want to drain western society. I think of it as a Big Scam with human victims where a picture pulls at the heart strings. I would rather see the feckless Hague or the UN go after the so-called leaders of these tribes/countries and ask where all the monies go that are donated to charities. The deaths of their people is on "their" hands. Don't blame me. I took care of my own children the best I could.

  2. These children, and the millions like them, 30,000 per day who die of starvation, are indeed helpless pawns, and of course there's scams going on, look at the vile Clinton Foundation for example. But the crimes of the wicked shouldn't blind us to the tragedy of the children, should it? Because bad people do bad things doesn't excuse us from being outraged, or feeling compassion, does it? If we use those excuses to willfully ignore all this, then we're no better than the monsters who cause it in the first place.
