"In time we hate that which we often fear."
- William Shakespeare, “Antony and Cleopatra”
"There are 1.6 billion Muslims in the world. If, for the sake of argument, 1 million are violent, that's a mere .000625 percent of them. I wonder who among you wants to be judged on such a tiny minority. Further, at 1.6 billion, if all Muslims- or even most Muslims- were violent, the world would already be in flames. Most people simply want to live their lives in peace, with some degree of material comfort. I find it bizarre- and disturbing- that so many Americans imagine that being a Muslim somehow trumps human nature and makes ordinary simple people want to rise up and kill everyone. That takes a special kind of stupid."

A special kind of stupid, combined with willful ignorance and intolerance, is a deadly brew...
No, this does not mean we naively, blindly and stupidly accept anyone and everyone, no, the world's a brutal place with many brutalized people following their own agendas, and considering our "wars", we've created a great many people who can never forgive what's been done to them, and want revenge, from which we must defend ourselves. Of course we should "vett" others for the "ability to behave in a reasonable, sensible and civilized way, including the ability to take responsibility for one's actions", and deny entry to clearly hostile people. But to apply blind hatred upon the entire Muslim world is as contemptibly offensive as Nazi hatred of the Jews, or the savage genocide of the Native Americans, or the repulsively vile and overt racist mistreatment of blacks and other minorities in this country. Ask yourself the Latin phrase, "qui bono"; consider the source of what you're hearing, who are they, and what's their agenda? Who benefits from this fiercely anti-Muslim propaganda hate storm? Things may not be as they appear, or as they want you to believe... - CP
